Blocades

Blocade is a separate siege attack mode. The other attack modes (scouting /attack /counter attack /counter scouting /occupation) you can find in section Battle Mechanics.

A Blockade always hangs over a planet/Orbital Station/Space Station and does not engage itself in battle with the planetary fleet or with the fleet on the Orbital Station/Space Station. At the same time a blockade attack on a planet is impossible, whereas one from planet to blockade is possible. The blockade works as follows:

  1. When ships are sent into a blockade, they reach a high orbit of the planet/OS/SS and circle over it without engaging in battle with ships on the planet/OS/SS.

  2. Any ships flying from or to a blocked planet/OS/SS interact with the blockade:

    1. If you send ships from yourself or a member of your corporation/clan/alliance to attack/explore/occupy a blockaded planet, the ships will fly past the blockade without a fight. Otherwise, the ships will fight the blockade first, and only if it is destroyed will they continue to fly to the planet.
    2. If you send ships from yourself or a member of your corporation/clan/alliance to a blockaded planet, the ships of the blockade are added up (there will be several blockades already hanging). Otherwise, the ships will fight the blockade first, and only if it is destroyed will they start blockading the planet themselves.

  3. Hercules that carry resources (minerals/modules/energy/Solarium) from or to a blocked planet/OS/SS (as well as empty Hercules returning from a raid):

    • fly past the blockade if those are friendly caravans (from the player/clan/corporation/alliance who placed the blockade)
    • are automatically attacked by a blockade on approach, if those are not friendly caravans and the blockade fleet does not have the "Boarding" module. If the blockade fleet has the "Boarding" module, part of the Hercules (depending on the module level - up to 100% ships) are captured by a blockade on approach and such Hercules become the property of the player who placed the blockade and begin to automatically fly to the player's planet from which the blockade was placed. In this case, if the «Boarding" skill is not learned - all load in the captured Herculeses is lost, and if the "Boarding" skill is learned then part of the load in the captured Herculeses is saved (Depending on the skill level - up to 100% of the load).

  4. The blockade does not prevent the Orbital Station from moving. The OS can jump to a planet with a blockade and there will be no battle between the blockade and the OS. Also, the OS can make a hyper jump to the needed place from under the blockade without fighting.

  5. If a planet is under the Shield, you can still put a blockade on it.

  6. The blockade is visible to everyone in space (planets with blockades are marked with special icons). You can see what kind of blockade it is - a friendly one (from yourself or a player in your corporation/clan/alliance) or the enemy's. The player on whom the blockade was placed sees a red alert «Blockade" on their planet and the set of ships in the blockade.

  7. Support cannot be sent to the Blockade.

  8. A blockade can only last six hours (or more for each level of the Blockade Duration skill which adds extra time to the limit). At the end of the blockade, the ships return to the home planet.

  9. One player can place a maximum of 1 Blockade at a time on different planets/SSs of other players. There is a Blockade skill that increases the number of simultaneous blockades to a maximum of 7. In the meantime, the limit takes into account the fact of sending a blockade, not the specific planets. That is, with a limit of 6, you can send blockades to 6 different planets or 6 blockades to one planet!

  10. The blockade can be called off before it reaches its end.

  11. The blockade will be able to steal energy from the planet/SS over which it is hanging every hour, but under a number of conditions (the charge of stolen energy takes place only when the barricade is back):

    1. If the Energy Satellite module is used when sending a blockade. Depending on the battle force of the blockade fleet and the level of the Energy Satellite module, a different amount of energy can be looted from the blockaded planet/SS every hour.
    2. If there is Energy on a blocked planet/SS and if it can be stolen (There is a skill "Energy Vault" that does not allow you to steal energy more than the minimum limit which increases with each level of the skill). The skill gives an indestructible energy limit for the player's entire account, but not for each planet separately.
    3. Unless there's a Shield on the planet being
    4. The blocked fleet has ships with enough bilges to carry the loot. If they are filled, the blockade will continue to hang without looting energy.

  12. The blockade will be able to loot 1 Solarium every 5 hours from the planet/SS over which it is hanging, but under a number of conditions (charging of the looted Solarium takes place only when the blockade is back):

    1. If the "Military Satellite" module was used when sending the blockade.
    2. If there is a Solarium on a blocked planet/SS and it is lootable (according to the Points limit and the corresponding "Solarium Vault" skill). The skill gives an indestructible Solarium limit on the entire player's account, but not on each planet separately.
    3. Unless there's a Shield on the planet being blocked.
    4. The blockaded fleet has ships with enough bilges to carry the loot. If they are filled up, the blockade will continue to hang without looting the Solarium.

  13. If there are missiles on a blocked planet/SS, they automatically fire on the blockade until they are exhausted or the blockade is removed/destroyed. When new missiles are produced, they also automatically fire on the blockade. Not every type of missile can fire on a blockade.
